The Game that started it all

Great game! This game is a must for any Iphone owners that like Jrpgs. Controls are amazing. For 2.99$ you cant go wrong.

Epic Series!

I havent played this one but ive beaten 4 5 and 9 So this should be fun!

Fantastic Throwback

Beat this game in about 10 hours give or take, the graphics are lacking obviously because of the games age, but the story is solid and it really brings you back to your childhood roots of gaming. Dragon Quest II, here I come!

Wonderful game, but constant crashing!

This game is magical and addictive! The best game on iOS I have ever played. It truly deserves 5 stars but unfortunately the game is constantly crashing on my iPhone 6+. Be sure to keep saving because the game WILL keep crashing and youll have to start all over from the save point.

Definitive DQ1 Experience

The definitive version of Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior. The beginning of console style RPGs are right here. Play DQ2, 3, and 4 to see the evolution through the NES era.

Great!

Great game really brought me back

No Background Music Support

Classic JRPG but the lack of being able to use your own music is a huge deal. Dont get me wrong whats here is good. But a lot of the game is grinding for XP. Hearing the same two tones and a few seconds of another song gets more tiring than the grinding. Hope square patches it.

Great!!

Great port! Highly recommend if you are into retro RPGs. I encountered no bugs what so ever.

Classic RPG

The controls are good and the game was fun. Now starting number 2

Absolute classic

As someone who spent hours upon hours playing the original classic on the NES, I find this port of the game to be an incredible remake. Im loving the updated graphics, the Olde English dialogues and the full orchestral soundtrack. The most unbelievable part is that this game was $50 originally and has been lovingly revamped and improved upon for $3. If youre a fan of the original, dont miss this one!

Just buy it

I love this game. This is definitely the definitive version of Dragon quest.

Worth playing

I actually have played this game once before on gameboy color in the combination gameboy DW1 and DW2 game cartridge (thats what it was called back in the day anyway). Now comparing it to that version this one is WAY better. The best part of this game is that u dont need an Internet connection and cell service on to play and save just fine or even one of them for that matter. So what are u waiting for? If u are an old school rpg fan or are curious about them go ahead and buy this.

Music stops playing and freezes after battle

This game is so fun! A great classic that made it to the iOS and I really appreciate that. But my phone is also my source of music and radio, and every time you open the game it stops your music. You can start it again by using your headphones to hit play, but when you finish a battle and it says victory t freezes when it should tell you how much Eco and gold you get. It would be really nice to have that fixed cause playing games and listening to music goes hand in hand. Especially no adays when everyone walks around with their jams playing. Thanks again for the great game with barely any bugs! Still timeless and fun.

Must play for JRPG fans

Killer port of a seminal game. The bugs arent bad enough to not give this 5 stars.

Wonderful even today

This port stays true to form with updates that truly add to the experience. With new graphics and a great soundtrack, this is the best form of English Dragon Quest money can buy.

Major Bug!

The game is great, but there is one bug that grinds my gears. I cant listen to music while playing the game. Please change this. Hundreds of people other than me want to see this changed

Hrhrhrh

Awesome app but spells need to be applied during the turn in which you use them.

Classic

Just how I remembered it as a kid now on my iPhone!

This is so unclear

I didnt know where I was going or what I was doing it doesnt tell me how to do anything it leaves me on my own to fend for myself.
